Raise it together: coordinate colleagues with an anonymous threshold
One person asking for a pay review is a conversation. Twenty asking on the same day is a negotiation. Crowd lets a team find out which it is without anyone sticking their neck out first.
The problem
Workplaces are full of things everyone agrees on and nobody says. The reason is simple: the first person to speak is exposed. A conditional commitment fixes the order of operations. Nobody acts until enough people have said they will.
Why a threshold fixes it
- Anonymous by design. There is no participant list, so there's nothing for a manager to request.
- Works across teams and sites. One link in the staff chat, the union WhatsApp or a shared doc.
- The threshold is yours: a majority of the team, half the department, 50 people across the company.
- Yellow cards let people say "I'm in but not on Friday" without breaking cover.

How to do it

Agree the single action in one sentence. Specific beats vague: "email HR on Monday", not "push back".

Set the threshold at the number where nobody can be singled out.

Share the link privately. Don't post it anywhere the employer controls if that's a concern.

Once the target is hit, everyone acts on the agreed day. Until then, nobody has done anything.
Questions
- Can my employer see who joined?
- No. Crowd holds no names and no emails, only a random per-device cookie and a salted IP hash used for rate limiting. The organiser sees the same count everyone else does.
- Is this a union?
- No. Crowd is a counting tool. If you have a union, this is a useful way to test support before a formal ballot. If you don't, it's a way for a group to act together on a single issue.
- Should I use my work laptop?
- Use your own device on your own connection if you're worried. Crowd is anonymous, but your employer's network may log the sites you visit.
- What if the count doesn't reach the target?
- The action expires and nobody has committed to anything visible. That's the point: the promise only becomes real once the number is real.
